About Me
- our unicorn uterus story
- I am 35 year old American, living in Cyprus (an island in the Mediterranean)with my husband. He is originally from here. I moved here last year. We were married in 2006, started trying immediately to have children. We weren't lucky on our own and found out through testing that I have a unicorn uterus. Now, one blighted ovum, 2 IVFs and 1 cervical etopic pregnancy, we are getting close to our dream. We have a litte one on the way! This is our story, some ups, some downs but hopefully it will end happily with a baby.
Our Story
August 2006 - Married, started trying
January 2007 - Pregnant
Feburary 14, 2007 - Blighted ovum discorved at 8 week appointment
Feburary 16, 2007 - D& C
2007 - 2009 - kept trying the old fashion way
August 2009 - go to infertility clinic
- hysterectomy reveals unicorn uterus
- laparooscopy to get a better look at my unicorn
September 2008 - start IUI, switch to IVF
October 2008 - pregnant
- cervical etopic pregnancy diagnosed at 5 week check up
- go to Fetal Medicine Specialist to make sure pregnancy isn't viable, he concurred it wasn't
November 2008
- see/hear baby's heart beat
- D&C
January 15, 2010 - Begin IVF #2 (the long protocol)
Begin daily Suprefact injections - .5ml
January 28, 2010 - Continue Suprefact injections .5ml
Start 225 IU of Fostimon
February 2, 2010 - Continue Suprefact injections .5ml
Reduce Fostimon to 75 IU
Start Merional 75 IU
Uterine Lining - 5mm
February 9, 2010 - Egg Retrival
February 14, 2010 - Embryo Transfer
Due Date: November 2, 2010
